Previous PageThese guys were pretty wild! This evening we ate dinner at Zippers restaurant and grill and I got to tell ya, there is nothing like sitting at a world class surf spot with good music in the background and eating some of the best local food around. For around 35 bucks you can get a huge portion of food and drinks. Not bad as we watch the sun go down on the mountains into the distance and watch surfers just out in front of us.

Got an early morning breakfast at Trader Dicks and caught the early morning
small surf at zippers. The waves continue to be quite small.
Later in the day we went into San Jose Del Cabo and did some shopping. Some
of the detail on the wooden crafts are phenomenal! We picked up several of those
pieces and later went to dinner at El Patio. This restaurant is one of the best
in town with one of Mexicos finest chefs. The food here was some of the
best I have ever had. We got the Mexican combo for two and when it arrived it
was gorgeous. The tamales were stuffed with lobster and shrimp and wrapped in
corn husks and grilled. The tortillas were also stuffed with lobster and artistically
wrapped in unusual shapes. The Chili Releno was very unusual stuffed with Tuna
that was grilled in a delicate sauce with cheese. They gave us some complimentary
dishes too and they came looking like Sushi. Each pieces was artistically created
with various sauces and shapes that defy description. They have taken Mexican
food to a new level here. It was like eating a work of art. The ambiance in
the restaurant was also exciting and relaxing with little lights in the trees,
Bougainvillea of varying colors, and exotic plants everywhere. Later we bought
some crafts from a local Oaxcan festival and some Agave Mezcal.

Today is our last full day and still the surf has risen. I did not realize how
good we had it those first few days but I did take advantage of situation and
surfed till I dropped when it was on. My last wave was a memorable double overhead
screamer. I left on a good note, at least from the water. The local bad boys
approached us at the beach at our car and tried to demand my trunks, t-shirt,
and whatever else they could. They wanted us to leave something for the locals
but I let them know we already left something for them and they helped themselves
to my hat while I was out surfing.
Dinner tonight was fabulous! We had Lobster Thermador and Lobster de Nuevo.
What a feast!

Today is the day. We are leaving. It took a couple of hours to pack up and wrap the boards in bubble wrap. Off to breakfast and then onto the airport. I bet our bill from room charges will be pretty huge but hey, we knew that. The arrival at the airport was very smooth and we ditched the rental car pretty quick and got to the terminal. There were super deals in the airport store and we picked up some blankets and ceramics. Man do we have a huge carry on! Well, its off to the gate.
