I made the decision to airbrush some of the colors into the water. All of these colors will be painted over with brush techniques, but the airbrush underpainting will show through and guide me to place the painted colors. I brushed in with a variety of flat and round white sables, adding some of the streaks in the water so they would show through the washes of acrylic being applied. The round script liner brushes are also ideal for this and for painting swirls in the water.
