After I got the basic tints and tones of the sky colors I wanted by freehanding various acrylic colors with my airbrush, I started to work on the clouds with whites, grays, and light blues. I try to use the white of the canvas as well as the airbrushed colors for the varying hues I want to create. Once I complete the airbrushed areas, I clear coat with a matte polymer medium from Liquitex. I pretty much use Liquitex exclusively because it flows well and tend not to clog as much as other brands of acrylic paints.
