In the top left center I have begun the painting of the rocks and the houses. The area on the top right of the hill was completed at this stage with a variety of brush work to make small dots of colors to replicate the textures of bushes and plants. I have also begun to work on the boat with the awning in turquoise. One of the hardest things to do to get this shot was to find an angle without people in the picture. There were hundreds of tourists in the area, but I found just the right angle to capture the scene without them. I prefer to paint my landscapes without the people in them so that the viewer can put themselves into the composition.
