New Art Page from Ed Obermeyer
This page shows my response to having a tibial fracture during the first week of June during the summer of 2005. I have been an avid surfer since 1964 and continue to enjoy the sport daily. Unfortunately, because of an accident where another surfer's longboard sailed through the air as I was paddling out, I had severe trauma to my right leg. Wearing a wet suit at the time helped a lot and prevented even worse damage, but I was pretty upset about it, so I created this painting to let out all my anger and frustration about the pain that followed. I have broken so many bones surfing and it always hurts a lot, but even more now that I am older. I hope that this method of dealing with anger can show others that there are some postive ways to let it out that are much more civilized than stomping on someone elses head or whatever in retaliation. I also painted my autocross helmet with autoair colors which is rapidly becoming the industry standard in automotive paint work.
